From handwriting to Google and Apple Calendar, without retyping
Home Board turns a photo of your handwritten calendar into a private calendar feed. Subscribe once in Google or Apple Calendar and every confirmed event just appears.
How a calendar feed works
Instead of asking for your Google or Apple password, Home Board gives each person a private feed URL — the same webcal subscription mechanism your phone already uses for team schedules and holidays. Add it once in Apple Calendar or Google Calendar settings, and your phone checks it for new events automatically. No linked accounts, no OAuth prompts, nothing to revoke later.
One-time setup, about a minute
On iPhone, adding a subscribed calendar is a couple of taps from the feed link. In Google Calendar, it's 'Add calendar → From URL'. Home Board shows each family member their own link and the exact steps for their phone. After that, the pipeline is: snap the board, confirm the reading, and events land on every subscribed phone.
Private by construction
Each feed URL contains its own secret — only people you've shared it with can see the household's events, and you can rotate a feed's secret any time from settings. Since Home Board never gets write access to anyone's Google or Apple account, it can't touch events that didn't come from the board.
Questions
Does Home Board need access to my Google account?
No. Events arrive via a private calendar feed you subscribe to — Home Board never sees your Google or Apple credentials and has no write access to your existing calendars.
How fast do events show up after a snap?
Events enter your feed the moment you confirm a snap. Phones then pick them up on their normal calendar-refresh cycle, which you can also control in your calendar settings.
Can I mix phones — iPhone parents, Android kid?
Yes. The feed is a standard ICS/webcal subscription, so Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, and anything else that subscribes to calendars all work side by side.
What if a feed link leaks?
Rotate it from settings — the old link stops working immediately and your calendar apps just need the new one.
Subscribe once. Never retype the board again.
